5/18/2023 0 Comments Video game disc cleaner machine![]() My cleaner sat for quite awhile simply because the cost to acquire and clean games did not make enough on the profit side to justify it. ![]() I mention this because many sellers do not account for the cost of the machine and materials into their business. It adds up when the disc is needing several times through. Cleaning a heavily scratched disc runs a cost per run. You really want one without a usage chip. A good cleaner will run you several thousand. I buy a lot of discs from flippers that have the awful swirl marks of a low budget cleaner. Don’t waste your time with a low dollar disc cleaner. I worked in videogame retail for years and still sell in media in general. Videogames in general is a heavily saturated market and the margins on many items are pretty low. ![]() I see this question asked a lot these days. I have seen it in action and the jfj doesn’t hold a candle to it. This machine has paid for itself, however i am always drooling over the RTI eco auto smart resurfacer, wish i could afford that. I have found Turtle wax scratch and swirl remover to work better than the jfj compound, and it is only $2.50 a bottle! I fixed an xbox 360 disc with the most horrible ring of death on it and tons of scratches, now it works and looks almost like new! 10 seconds with the fine sanding disc and about 4 minutes with the Turtle wax. Since my machine went out of warranty, i started trying different polishing compounds. No scratches except the very light swirly resurface marks only visible at a certain angle. The dvd based games however, come out looking awesome. PS3 games, aka blu-ray, you can only do so much and they are easy to destroy, but it can still fix them if you don’t overdo it. As far as surface finish, it depends on the type of disc. It has turned a lot of unplayable games to playable. I have had a jfj easy pro for a couple years.
